“When representing clients, I am consciously aware of the stress associated with any type of litigation. I try to reduce that stress by being available on a nearly 24/7 basis to answer questions and head off potential problems. I pride myself on prompt return of telephone calls, and I am also sensitive to the importance of the cost considerations of effective representation.”
My work focuses on all aspects & types of Family Law including High Net-Worth/High Income Divorce, Child Custody & Visitation, Child Support, Child Relocation, Alimony/Spousal Support/Spousal Maintenance, Property & Financial Assets Division, Same Sex Divorce & Family Law, Enforcement & Modifications of Judgments, Paternity, Adoption, Domestic Violence & Orders of Protection, Legal Separations, Annulments, Name Changes, Prenuptial & Post Nuptial Agreements, Family Law Appeals & Mediation. I worked at the Pace Women’s Justice Center, as a Staff Attorney. While at the Center, I helped to start Project Deter, a 24/7 program for victims of domestic violence, and was instrumental in launching the Family Court Legal Assistance Program. The model for the FCLAP, which provides a one-stop service network for victims of domestic violence (from petitioning for custody, to obtaining child support orders, to trying Family Offenses to gain orders of protections), has been widely imitated and is still operating today in both the White Plains and Yonkers Family Court. I helped author the Court of Appeals case, In Re: Afton C, which was widely published and continues to tackle difficult issues of law in appellate court practice. Now in solo practice, I continue to work in all aspects of Family & Divorce Law and Appellate court practice. I am a member of the Attorneys for Children Panel of the Appellate Division of the State of New York, 2nd Department where I regularly represent children in Family and Supreme Court matters.
