Attorney Gonzalez-Velez’s interest and passion providing legal assistance to immigrants arises from his immigrant background. His ancestors immigrated from the Canary Islands, Spain in the 1800s. His family settled in Puerto Rico, which was then a Spanish colony. As residents of Puerto Rico, his ancestors became United States citizens after an act of Congress. Now, as a fourth generation immigrant to the United States, Attorney Gonzalez-Velez passionately assists immigrants in the states of Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey with various immigration matters. He practices almost exclusively immigration law, emphasizing defense in court, family-based immigration, naturalization, and consular processing.
