Daniel Wehking is a native Floridian. He grew up in Miami, Florida where he attended Marine and Science Technology Academy, a prestigious marine science themed public magnet school near Key Biscayne. Before earning his bachelors degree, Daniel worked taking care of dolphins at the Miami Seaquarium and monkeys at the Monkey Jungle.

Daniel earned his Bachelor of Science from Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. He went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from Rutgers University School of Law in Camden, New Jersey. While at Rutgers, Daniel was the recipient of a Dean Merit Scholarship.

Upon his return to Florida, Daniel worked as a prosecutor in Polk County. Daniel tried dozens of cases for all types of crimes and secured sentences up to life in prison without parole for dangerous felons. Daniel continued to practice criminal law for the Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel in Marion, Putnam, and Brevard Counties. He successfully handled a variety of cases, some as serious as first degree felony murder, on both the trial and appellate levels.

Daniel’s law practice includes estate planning, asset protection planning, guardianships, elder law, and estate and trust administration and litigation. He is a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution, Elder Law, and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law sections of the Florida Bar Association.

Daniel is married to Tracey, a fellow former prosecutor who is now Youth Services Coordinator for the Sumter County Library System.
