Trademark attorneys clear, register and enforce brand names, logos, slogans and trade dress: availability searches, USPTO applications and office action responses, oppositions and cancellations before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, licensing, international filings and infringement or counterfeiting actions.

Rights in the United States come primarily from use, but federal registration adds nationwide priority, a public record and stronger remedies. Most applications receive at least one office action, and refusals for likelihood of confusion or descriptiveness are routine rather than fatal.

Before you hire

  • Search before you invest in the name. A clearance search costs a fraction of a rebrand.
  • Ask what the quoted fee covers: search, filing, office action responses, statements of use — these are often priced separately, plus government fees per class.
  • Watch renewal and maintenance deadlines. Registrations lapse quietly.
  • Ask about enforcement policy. A mark that is never policed weakens.
