I am lucky to be an estate planning and probate attorney in Auburn, California. I work just up the road from where I grew up in Newcastle.

Before attending law school at McGeorge, I spent a few years in Los Angeles. I loved going to class at U.C.L.A., but didn’t care for the congestion of people and cars. So, I moved back, got married, and thought about the future.

I ended up convincing my wife to attend law school with me. It was a good thing I did, for I had the best study partner in our class. She graduated valedictorian. Much to our joy, we both passed the California bar exam. We then joined Ed Koons at his then solo practice. We appreciated the practical, and insightful approach he brought to solving problems, and the easy going atmosphere at the office.

We continue that tradition to this day. Whether it is creating a living trust, amending a trust, or creating a power of attorney, we work hard to make estate planning understandable and affordable. Probate, while never desirable, can be done efficiently with the right assistance. We can help. Additionally, you will still find the easy going atmosphere at the office of Koons & Riswold. We want our clients to feel comfortable at our office, not intimidated or guarded. Communication and trust are hallmarks of a good relationship, and we try our very best to create that bond with our clients.
