Terence J. Ricaforte, grew up in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. After graduating from Manhattan College with a B.S. in Business Administration, he earned a J.D. from New York Law School. Since 2008, Terence has primarily practiced in the areas of Elder Law, Estate Planning, Probate and Estate Administration, Estate Litigation, Medicaid Planning, Real Estate, Tax and Business Succession Planning.
Mr. Ricaforte started his legal career as an attorney with the Miami Dade State Attorneys Office. He became an Assistant State Attorney in 2006 and prosecuted misdemeanor and felony crimes through at least 15 jury and numerous bench trials. Mr. Ricaforte then returned home to New York to be closer to family and friends.
Using the litigation and trial experience he developed as an Assistant State’s Attorney, he was able to build a niche practice of Estate Litigation. Mr. Ricaforte has handled jury trials, contested probate, administration and accounting proceedings, discovery proceedings, contested power of attorneys, fraudulent transfer issues, tax litigation and contested real estate matters. His vast experience in all forms of estate and elder law litigation has made him a proficient estate and elder law planner due to his knowledge of all of the issues that can arise as a result.
In his spare time Mr. Ricaforte is a Mentor for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program and has helped raise funds for the American Heart Association. Mr. Ricaforte is an accredited attorney with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Mr. Ricaforte is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
