Scott A. Gorman founded The Gorman Law Firm in New Jersey in 2011. There, Mr. Gorman focused his practice primarily in the areas of criminal defense, domestic violence, drug possession, DUI/DWI, expungement and juvenile defense. Prior to opening his own firm, he served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Barbara Byrd Wecker, a now retired judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division. Mr. Gorman also worked as an associate assigned to the Employment Law team at K&L Gates and he spent four years as an associate with the Rem Zeller Law Group working on civil matters, criminal matters, and appeals.
He has given presentations for his peers at programs for the National Employment Lawyers Association and the Bergen County Bar Association, and Mr. Gorman has given multiple presentation on the topic of social media and other electronic evidence and how to have such evidence admitted or barred at trial.
Mr. Gorman earned his B.S. with honors from Cornell University and he earned his J.D. degree from Rutgers University School of Law – Newark. He is a member of the National College of DUI Defense, a founding member of the DUI Defense Lawyers Association and a life member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys. From 2016 to 2018, Mr. Gorman also sat on the board of directors of the municipal court practice section of the New Jersey Bar Association. Since 2015, Mr. Gorman has been certified in the area of municipal court law by the Supreme Court of New Jersey.
