Matthew Dotzler is a founding partner of Carden Dotzler Hammond, PLLC and heads the White Collar Defense practice group. He concentrates on criminal defense, DWI defense and traffic defense, along with a specialized focus in defending clients who are charged with white collar offenses. Matthew regularly represents clients who are charged with criminal, DWI and traffic offenses in Onondaga County Court, Syracuse City Court, and other courts throughout Central New York.
Before entering private practice, Matthew served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office for seven years. There, he successfully prosecuted hundreds of felony-level white collar crimes in the Economic Fraud and Financial Crimes Bureau, including embezzlement, forgery, identity theft, tax evasion, counterfeiting and welfare fraud crimes. Matthew also handled a variety of misdemeanor and traffic-related offenses, including the prosecution of drug and narcotic offenses. At the District Attorney’s Office, he gained valuable trial experience and spent countless hours in the courtroom, working closely with local law enforcement, forensic auditors and financial institutions.
Matthew earned his Law Degree (J.D.) and Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
