Laura Daniels is a solo practitioner who practices family and matrimonial law. Her experience representing clients in domestic violence cases gives her a unique perspective toward the emotional component of divorce and family court matters. She appears regularly in Supreme and Family Courts, and litigates vigorously for her clients, but is also committed to helping families reduce litigation by promoting mutual respect and cooperation to bring about amicable settlements. She graduated from St. Johns University School of Law in 2000, after receiving her B.A. magna cum laude from Hunter College, where she was elected as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. As a law student, Ms. Daniels was editor of the Family Law Newsletter where she published articles on bankruptcy and divorce and the use of mediation in matrimonial matters. Ms. Daniels has years of experience representing clients in divorce and family court matters, including as a staff attorney for a non-profit legal provider in the area of domestic violence. Ms. Daniels is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Westchester County Bar Association, the Westchester Women’s Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association. She is also a member of the Westchester County 18B Panel for Family Court attorneys. Ms. Daniels is the recipient of the 2015 Karen Z. Bell New York State Bar Association Award of Merit in recognition of her work on The Moderate Means Panel. She is a board member of the Westchester/ Fairfield Chapter of JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).
