Kiana graduated from Cornell Law School with a concentration in business law and is a former business litigator at one of the nation’s largest law firms. Since 2002, she has been achieving successful outcomes for clients through negotiated agreements, mediation and litigation.
Kiana’s practice focuses on complex financial divorces and custody. With each case, she creates effective strategies in dividing marital assets and spousal and child support. She focuses on each client’s particular needs with “big-picture” astuteness. Kiana educates her clients about the advantages, disadvantages, and costs involved, enabling her clients to make the best decisions for their new post-divorce lives.
Kiana has substantial experience working with high net worth clients and managing issues such as business valuations (including law and medical practices and privately held family corporations), real estate, private equity and limited partnership income, stock options, and founders’ stock. That being said, she represents and enjoys working with clients of all asset levels.
In custody and visitation matters, Kiana advises on parenting plans best suited for the client and the client’s family, often working with psychologists that specialize in divorcing couples. As a child of divorce herself, she uniquely understands the challenges children face during this difficult time. She is particularly proud of providing many clients the tools and education to become better co-parents post-divorce. She has also obtained several successful results for her clients in move-away/relocation disputes.
Kiana works with a variety of clients, including but not limited to start-up founders, venture capitalists, private equity partners, doctors, lawyers, real estate, developers, stay-at-home parents, salaried employees, small business owners, and restaurant and bar owners.
